Why did the school move?

How do I enroll my child?

Our school has been fortunate and flourished during this time of uncertainty. We have had a waitlist for nearly a year and needed to find a site that offered more space. We are renting the former Willow High School site from the John Swett Unified School District. This partnership between our educational institutions holds the promise of increased collaboration and community building.

Please submit an application here, and then register for a tour here. Submitting an application before your tour will ensure we know if we have an opening that meets your needs. We prioritize admission for siblings of current or alumni children, full-time enrollments, and families living in Crockett, Port Costa or Rodeo contingent on space available. We accept children between the ages of two - five-years-old. Spaces are sometimes available mid-year.

Why do you have a new name?

As our school shifts in focus towards the values of inclusion, social and environmental justice we wanted to find a name that represented our region and community specifically. We hold this name in honor of the Karkin indigenous people who cultivated this land.

How is the school changing?

With the opportunity to serve more students in our new larger site we are focused on building systems to include children and families of every income level and ability. This is a journey that will require support from partners, neighbors and the families already in the school. Our vision of serving more families in this region with high quality early education is beginning on the foundation of justice and equity.

Our proximity to Crockett Hills Regional Park will support our belief that children need ample time in nature and foster the inquiry skills at the center of our work.
