Nature as a vehicle for learning

Time spent outdoors is essential to the health of our bodies, minds and spirits. At Carquinez Garden School children work in our garden and harvest their hard earned tomatoes or flowers. They explore the richness of dirt and leaves while deepening their understanding of our environment and developing empathy for the natural world.
